Previous point validated...

This article proves my point.  It talks about how the press won't let go of the Iraq prisoner abuse stories: http://www.washtimes.com/national/20040520-115221-2362r.htm.

My thoughts: It was reprehensible what was done to the prisoners -- our military ought to operate under a much higher standard when it somes to their treatment.  However I think the problem was limited to isolated groups who either were not properly trained or did not conform to their training.  It was an awful situation that warrented reporting to the public -- but the point does not need to be belabored.  All that is being accomplished now is titillation and provocation.  The provocation is likely to produce yet another beheaded American citizen, which is probably exactly what the media wants, since it will give them something else to sensationalize.

Of course the media does it because they know it sells.  So my gripe has not only to do with the media but with the public.  Sometimes it seems like I live in a world full of dupable idiots.  How depressing!
