Some people are great bloggers. Then there's me. A lot has happened since my last post, but I have been too busy to write anything. Not that it really matters -- I doubt anyone reads this anyway.
So the news. First of all, I'm a grandpa. Four weeks ago yesterday, my oldest son Bryan and his wife Teresa had a baby girl, Hannah. Pretty cool, huh? I definitely think so.
There's other stuff I'd like to write but I can't at the moment. Maybe later.
The main thing I want to say today is that I'm grateful to be alive at this time and place in the history of the world. Several generations ago, people came from all over the world -- escaping harsh circumstances and seeking a new beginning -- to here. They formed a country, and worked very, very hard to establish and nurture it. Subsequent generations also worked and fought to defend it and to help it grow. This country has made its mark on the world. As a result, the world is a much better place. There are still problems and things that need defending, but it is, in my opinion, the greatest country that has ever been.
Happy 4th of July.
