I would rather not keep going off about politics and the media, but I just can't help it.
Yesterday the media latched onto a story about how some 380 tons of explosives somehow disappeared in Iraq -- explosives in a stockpile that the U.N. inspectors had tagged before the war. Now they are just plain missing.
Oh boy. John Kerry and John Edwards grabbed a hold of that one. Just another example of the reckless, irresponsible failure of the president to protect and safeguard blah blah blah. One of the great blunders blah blah blah. That's Kerry's style. It seems that is what he had done all of his life since coming home from the Vietnam war. Shakes that finger. Whether the blame fits or not, he sure knows how to lay it on thick.
Well. Now it is coming out that the stockpile was ALREADY GONE when the U.S. troops arrived in Iraq. It was missing in April, 2003. Drudge is reporting on that tonight. So, how do you like them apples? What do you say to that, Johns? How were we to protect and safeguard the explosives cache? Should we have invaded Iraq sooner? Hmmmm?
And if this is the case, why did the news media pick now to break the story about the stockpile disappearance? Just one week before the presidential election? It happened more than a year ago. Something really smells fishy to me. Really rotten fishy.
It will be fun to watch the back-peddling by the Johns and the media over the next couple of days on this one.
Post note: This link is another example of the media bias on this very issue. Tucked away towards the bottom of the article is the admission that the explosives cache was gone before the war started. But at the top of the article is a description of how Kerry “cited” the issue, whereas Bush “slammed” Kerry. With ever-escalating rhetoric, Bush “accused” Kerry of his never-ending criticisms but “fell silent” on the cache issue. It continues throughout the article. I think the descriptions lean more in one direction than the other. Don't you?
