Shahzad (a friend from work) gave me another book to read. It was a short one -- only about 180 pages, called “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho.
I finished reading it yesterday, and I'm still deciding what to think about it. It is the story of a shepherd boy from Spain who follows his destiny by seeking treasure at the Pyramids in Egypt and learns a bunch of stuff along the way. He runs across an alchemist who teaches him about life and omens and the way things are. The book supposedly has inspired many people.
It is inspiring, but I don't totally agree with all of the concepts presented. Some of them I do. But there is too much mystisism. I'm sure I didn't get all of the stuff the author put forth.
Anyway, I read it and now I'm done reading for a while.
Well, after I read Harry Potter -- I just started it yesterday...
